Standing Strong Together: Our Support for Türkiye in Times of Earthquakes

Over the past weeks, Türkiye has faced a series of earthquakes that have tested the resilience of its people. From bustling city streets to quiet rural towns, the tremors have touched countless lives, leaving a mark on hearts and homes. But through these challenges, one thing remains unshaken — the unwavering spirit of the Turkish people.

The Crucial Role of AFAD

In the heart of Türkiye’s relief efforts stands AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) — coordinating search and rescue teams, delivering essential aid, and ensuring the safety of affected communities. Their dedication and rapid response embody resilience and unity, inspiring us all to stand together in times of crisis.

Earthquake Safety Tips: Before, During & After

1. Before an Earthquake – Be Prepared

  • Secure heavy furniture and appliances to the walls.
  • Prepare an emergency kit with water, food, flashlight, batteries, and first-aid supplies.
  • Create a family evacuation plan and practice it regularly.

2. During an Earthquake – Stay Safe

  • Remember: Drop, Cover, Hold On – get low, protect yourself, and hold on until the shaking stops.
  • Stay away from windows and objects that could fall.
  • If outdoors, move to an open area away from buildings, trees, and power lines.

3. After an Earthquake – Stay Alert

  • Check yourself and others for injuries.
  • Avoid using elevators until the building is confirmed safe.
  • Follow official updates and safety instructions from AFAD and local authorities.

Our hearts are with Türkiye — today, tomorrow, and always.
